I finally saw Ruby Sparks tonight, and it was so good I watched it twice. All I can say is that I’m totally smitten by Zoe Kazan, who not only plays the aforementioned character, but she wrote this wonderfully intelligent screenplay. I can see her writing this as not only a response to the typical Manic Pixie Dream Girl story, but also an ode to artists who have to learn how to let go of their creations.
