I found myself enjoying The Bourne Legacy far more than I expected. For a reboot, it does a commendable job of advancing the franchise beyond Matt Damon. I’ve always loved the Bourne movies for being action movies made for adults. Generally intelligent, brawny thrillers that eschew all the conventional formula. And you really can’t go wrong putting the lovely Rachel Weisz on screen. I did find it funny though that the plot revolves around a cover-up that goes bad. When will people ever learn that it’s not the crime that gets you in trouble, it’s the cover-up! Almost 40 years since Watergate and that lesson has yet to sink in.
